Julien Dechanxhe

Research activities

Julien’s research thesis explores multimode nonlinear optics and related fundamental processes. He investigates how space-time couplings can be used as a new degree of freedom to control the nonlinear propagation of ultrafast optical pulses in multimode waveguides.

Biography

Born in 2001 in Brussels, Julien earned his master degree in physics engineering at the École Polytechnique de Bruxelles in 2024. He completed his master thesis in the OPERA-Photonique department on ultrafast-pulsed multimode nonlinear optics under the supervision of Pascal Kockaert and Spencer Jolly. He then continued his work by starting a PhD.
