Biography

Born in Brussels in 1995, Elisabeth graduated from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Biomedical Engineering in 2018. During her studies, she spent 6 months as an Erasmus student at "lnstituto Superior Técnico" in Lisbon. Her master thesis, entitled "Development of a Deep Learning approach for automatic mitosis detection in histology images" was carried out under the supervision of Christine Decaestecker at the "Laboratory of Image Synthesis and Analysis" at ULB. From August 2018 to October 2019, Elisabeth was a teacher of mathematics, physics and chemistry at the "Ecole du Bois Sauvage" in Brussels. She then joined the Opera-Photonic department where she works part-time as a PhD student under the supervision of Professors Marc Haelterman and Thomas Barrier. Her doctoral work focuses on the development and analysis of an adaptive learning platform for physics learning, aimed at first-year students at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (SBS-EM). At the same time, she works part-time as a physics assistant at SBS-EM
